Telemedicine Options for Non-Life-Threatening Injuries

Some workers compensation carriers are now offering and encouraging telemedicine options for non-life-threatening injuries that qualify for workers compensation claims. Cincinnati Insurance Companies (telemedicine options announcement) and AmTrust Financial (telemedicine options announcement) are two insurance companies currently offering options for injury and follow-up treatments through virtual medical visits.  Both have partnered with Concentra® for easy access to an occupational health provider.

In the event of an emergency or life-threatening situation,

  • Contact 9-1-1.

For non-emergency treatment for an injured employee,

  • telemedicine options may be available.

To engage in telemedicine,

  • the patient must be in a private room and have a smartphone, tablet, laptop or other connected device (with a webcam or integrated webcam) to speak with a physician.
